The Manhattan Studio
The Manhattan Studio is the SoHo space of Attached Therapy, created for individuals and couples seeking deliberate, considered therapeutic work in New York City. The studio is intentionally limited and structured, offering a quiet setting for focused care around relationships, intimacy, and emotional well-being.
Sessions are held in person, with secure teletherapy available when preferred. In select cases, private Manhattan arrangements may be offered.
Individual Therapy in Manhattan
Life in Manhattan moves quickly and without pause. For many, the demands of career, relationships, and constant stimulation begin to erode clarity, leaving stress chronic, emotions heavy, and familiar patterns repeating without relief.
Individual work at Attached Therapy offers a contained space to slow down and examine what has quietly become unworkable. Sessions focus on understanding emotional patterns, relational dynamics, and the internal pressures shaping your experience, rather than simply managing symptoms.
Jason Powell, LMFT, CST works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relational strain, betrayal, loss, and periods of personal transition. His background as both a marriage and family therapist and an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist allows the work to attend carefully to the intersections of self, relationships, and intimacy. This integrated approach is central to the work held at the Manhattan Studio, where relational, emotional, and sexual concerns are rarely separate.
Individuals often seek this work during periods of:
Persistent stress, burnout, or emotional fatigue
Anxiety or depression that feels entrenched or cyclical
Relationship or intimacy concerns
Recovery following betrayal, divorce, or significant loss
Career transitions or major life changes
A sense of disconnection from meaning or direction
This work centers on clarity, coherence, and steadier emotional footing, rather than performance, productivity, or quick fixes.
Couples Therapy in Manhattan
Even strong relationships can become strained by life in Manhattan. Demanding careers, shifting roles, and the pace of the City can leave partners feeling disconnected, locked in conflict, or uncertain how to move forward together. For some couples, these strains are compounded by breaches of trust or infidelity.
Couples work at Attached Therapy focuses on understanding the patterns that keep partners stuck and creating space for more honest, grounded connection. The work is structured and direct, supporting couples as they navigate difficult conversations, repair trust, and reestablish emotional and physical closeness.
Jason Powell, LMFT, CST works extensively with couples facing relational rupture, distance, and recurring conflict. His training in Couples Therapy and Infidelity Repair allows the work to move beyond surface problem-solving and toward rebuilding the underlying foundation of a relationship.
Couples often enter this work during periods of:
Ongoing conflict that never seems to resolve
Emotional or physical distance
Infidelity or breaches of trust
Desire differences or intimacy strain
Pressure from careers, family demands, or life transitions
A persistent sense of being stuck in familiar patterns
Couples therapy supports steadier connection, clearer communication, and a relationship that feels more resilient and alive, without focus on performance or quick resolution.
Sex Therapy in Manhattan
Sexual concerns are often experienced privately and without language. Many individuals and couples arrive feeling uncertain how to address desire differences, performance anxiety, painful or avoided sex, or a sense that intimacy has become distant or unsatisfying. For some, these concerns are intertwined with infidelity or breaches of trust, complicating repair.
Sex-focused work at Attached Therapy attends carefully to both the emotional and physical dimensions of intimacy. The work is direct and contained, allowing space to understand patterns of desire, arousal, avoidance, and connection without resorting to pathologizing or performance-driven solutions.
Jason Powell, LMFT, CST brings advanced training as an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist to this work. His approach integrates relational context with practical intervention, supporting individuals and couples in developing a clearer, more grounded relationship to sexuality.
Sex Therapy in Manhattan often addresses:
Desire discrepancies between partners
Performance anxiety or erectile difficulties
Painful, avoided, or distressing sexual experiences
Rebuilding intimacy following infidelity or betrayal
Shame, guilt, or anxiety related to sexuality
Reclaiming erotic connection and pleasure
The aim of this work is not optimization or technique, but a sexual life that feels more coherent, confident, and connected.
