Jason Powell, LMFT, CST
Jason Powell is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, AASECT Certified Sex Therapist, and AAMFT Clinical Fellow. He works with individuals and couples seeking thoughtful, structured support around relationships, intimacy, and emotional well-being.
Jason’s work is grounded in advanced Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) training, including completion of both the core skills and externship programs through the San Francisco Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy. He approaches therapy as precise, relational work, helping clients understand the patterns that shape emotional and sexual connection rather than assigning blame or revisiting the past without direction.
He works extensively with couples during periods of strain or rupture, including the aftermath of infidelity, long-standing communication breakdowns, and life transitions that place pressure on intimacy and trust. Jason also works with individuals exploring the impact of relational stress, identity questions, and intimate concerns on their broader sense of self.
Jason has been featured in national publications including Women’s Health, Glamour, SELF, Yahoo, AARP, Forbes, and The Knot. His practice is often sought out by individuals and couples for whom privacy and discretion are essential, including professionals, athletes, creatives, and entrepreneurs in visible roles. The work is held with clarity, care, and strict attention to confidentiality.
His work is shaped by years of clinical practice in Manhattan, Boston and throughout the United States.
In-person sessions are offered by appointment at the Manhattan Studio and the Brooklyn Studio. Jason also works remotely with clients located across select U.S. states, in accordance with licensure.
